Manchester United's former star Darren Fletcher returned to the club and temporarily served as the head coach of the Red Devils U16 team.
36-year-old Fletcher has played 342 times for Manchester United, won 5 Premier League titles, 1 Champions League title and other honors. In 2019, Fletcher retired and worked as a guest commentator.
Returning to Manchester United to coach the U16 team this time, Fletcher is preparing for the start of his coaching career in the future. He told Manchester United’s official website: “I’m about to get my coaching certificate. This time I’m invited back to the Manchester United club. In the evening I have free time. I want to do something at Manchester United and do something in return. Work, this is a good thing. This club means far-reaching to me."
“It’s a bit difficult to transition from a player to other jobs. You focused all your energy on being a good player, and you miss the days of being a player. I think I (after retiring) need a little time to accept the reality of not playing football anymore. Instead, fight for my coaching certificate."
